The RECORDED Implementing ERM – Part 1 self-study webinar course was conducted and presented by Parveen Gupta LLB, Ph.D., and Paul Walker, Ph.D., CPA, on October 7, 2009. The global financial crisis and the resulting business failures have clearly demonstrated that ERM is a critical component of effective corporate governance. Without an effective ERM implementation, no organization can claim that its corporate governance structure and mechanisms are designed to protect and enhance shareholder value. Absence of an effective risk management program may expose the board to the risk of defaulting on its fiduciary duty. In spite of ERM being a keystone component of an organization’s effective corporate governance, most companies are woefully deficient in implementing ERM effectively.
Upon completing and passing the Knowledge Check quiz with a minimum passing grade of 70%, participants earn 1.5 IMA CPE credits. The Knowledge Check quiz draws on material from both the webinar and assigned readings.
