The RECORDED Introduction to ERM self-study webinar course was conducted and presented by Parveen Gupta LLB, Ph.D., and Mark Kovacic, MBA, on September 16, 2009. This course focuses on the recent financial crisis and the associated events that brought the global economies to the brink of the Great Depression-like era highlighting the need for every organization to effectively manage its enterprise-wide risks. In the hope of avoiding future catastrophes, regulators are imposing additional compliance burdens on enterprise. In spite of the new rules, myopic, disjointed, and silo view of risks by the companies will only “kick the problem” down the road and not yield any meaningful risk management.
Upon completing and passing the Knowledge Check quiz with a minimum passing grade of 70%, participants earn 1.5 IMA CPE credits. The Knowledge Check quiz draws on material from both the webinar and assigned readings.
