This four-part online ethics course examines the issues of honesty and ethical behavior from a variety of perspectives, shedding light on reasons why some professionals decide to act ethically (or not), as well as providing suggestions for building a more honest organization. Part one of the course discusses the prevalence of economic crime and the reasons why some employees choose to report wrongdoing while others do not.
Part two of the course examines why it is important to lay the groundwork for ethical behavior – in accounting curricula and in private industry – to encourage whistleblowers to come forward.
Part three of the course discusses how organizations can be successful in designing effective peer-reporting systems, included suggestions for designing these systems.
Part four of the course describe how to make honesty an integral part of an organization’s cultural fabric.
